Meet Our Team

Rhonda Carey

President

Rhonda began her career in 1993 working for a cemetery and funeral home corporation. A few years later she became the memorial consultant for Fort Collins Monument & Stone. Rhonda’s entrepreneurial spirit drove her to start her own company when the owner retired. She assembled experienced craftsmen and professional counselors to ensure Landmark Monuments offered only the best to everyone and every budget. She has built a lifetime of relationships in the community and is confident that she will see that legacy live on through her family.

Mark Carey

Vice President

Mark graduated from CU and pursued his career in finance before joining the family company in 2015. Rhonda’s son, Mark, grew up visiting quarries and cemeteries throughout America. He was instrumental in opening our Cheyenne, Wyoming location in the historic Wyoming Monument Works building, which later became Tri-State Memorial. In addition to operations, Mark meets with families, contractors and community leaders, handling engraving and commercial projects for Landmark Monuments.

Eric Montoya

Memorial Consultant

As a native Coloradoan, and former funeral director, Eric spent his life serving families in our community. He is on the Board of Directors for the Housing Authority in Adams County and a former member of the City Council in Thornton. Eric’s knowledge and extensive background make him uniquely qualified to assist others during an emotional and difficult time. He specializes in creating custom monument designs and personalized bronze grave markers.

Kathy Johnson

Memorial Consultant

Kathy attended the University of Wyoming and served in the Wyoming Air National Guard. She is a Cheyenne Frontier Days volunteer and is a member of Cheyenne American Legion. Working part-time at Landmark Monuments in Loveland over the past few years, Kathy’s artistic ability and sincere compassion for helping others became evident. When the Cheyenne location was purchased in 2019, Kathy was thrilled to be working in her hometown, while helping the families in her own community.

Tonya Gerharter

Memorial Consultant

Tonya served in the Wyoming Air National Guard for 8 years, where she received formal training in Graphic Design. She also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Counselor Education from the University of Wyoming, both of which she has applied throughout her career in service to our communities. Along with her creative and artistic abilities, Tonya has a heart for assisting others, and does so with compassion. Tonya works with families to create custom monument designs that will preserve the legacies of their loved ones.
